Nokia 6208c gets official

There was a rumour about Nokia 6208c and today the handset was confirmed.
Nokia has started releasing more touchscreen phones. This handset which has the touch screen has been optimized to write Chinese characters. It is expected to be launched in the first half of 2009.

"In an event held today in Nanjing Nokia unveiled the Nokia 6208c, a new pen input device which caters for a number of different customers, specifically those in China. The touch screen on the 6208c is optimized to write Chinese characters and messages in the most natural way, with a pen.

The design of the stylus, attached to the back of the phone, is inspired by bamboo slips and works perfectly with the large color display which is reminiscent of an ink stone, another element from traditional Chinese art and culture. All these design cues are implemented using premium materials such as the stainless steel back cover, which makes the handset both easy to use and comfortable to hold.

Added to the Chinese language support, the device features a number of different languages and characters.

With a 3.2 megapixel camera, dual LED flash and 4x digital zoom, the Nokia 6208c makes capturing memories and sharing moments simple and easy. The large input area features larger fonts for messaging and browsing as well as viewing pictures and web pages. The new handset also supports optional microSD cards up to 8GB, providing ample memory for images, videos, music and more."

Samsung S8300 is a slider phone with 8MP Camera and AMOLED Touchscreen. This phone is set to hit the stores around march '09. The phone constitutes a 2.8 inch WQVGA 16 million AMODEL touch screen. Camera has auto focus functionality. Other than these great two things, phone features, GPS, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.1 and HSDPA topping 7.2Mbps. LG's GD910 - 3G HSPDA Wrist Phone


LG-GD910 is a wrist phone with 3G capability. It has a 1.43 inch LCD touch screen in the front. A video camera has been integrated into the watch face for video recording or conferencing. This phone has TTS(Text To Speech) capabilities, Bluetooth, voice dialing with speech recognition.




The LG-GD910 is scheduled for an official debut at CES in January.

Philips Xenium X620 is a candy bar phone offering longest endurance on one battery charge. This handset has new Li-Ion battery having capacity of 1200 mAh. This phone featurs 2.4 inch TFT display with QVGA resolution supporting upto 262k colours.

Enhanced Calculator for S60 updated and archived




Nokia has made the final update to Enhanced Calculator for S60. Some minor issues have been fixed - including the compatibility issue with Nokia N96.

MOTOROLA i9 official pics



It has a clamshell form factor having an external display and lots of external keys that seem to be touch-sensitive.
Moto i9 has a 3.1 MP with both autofocus and flash. I don’t think there’s any other iDEN handset out there to have a camera with these performances.

Next Google Android handset - AGORA



Google's second Android phone has been introduced by Australians and the handset is named as Agora. It has been sold in two models- Agora standard and kogan Agora Pro.
It has 2.5 inch TFT touch screen displaying 262k at 320x240 resolution. Kogan Agora Pro version has additional features like Wifi, GPS, 2.0 MP Camera.

Its dimensions are 108 mm x 64 mm x 14.8 mm and it weighs 130g. It has a 624 MHz processor with 128MB RAM. It s a 3G phone. This phone will feature Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Talk and Google Calendar options. For audio and video, the Agora supports MIDI, MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, PCM and MPEG2 H263, H264, MPEG4, AVI for video.



The Agora standard edition is priced at AUD $299 and the Kogan “Agora Pro” at AUD $399. These two versions are being sold in KOGAN website

Skype now available for Windows Mobile



Skype is now available for Windows mobile. Now windows mobile users can make skype calls and most of the features of skype. Skype 2.5 beta will work on all windows mobile phones. You can download it to your phone directly and then you can install it or save it on your PC and then transferring it to your phone.

It is compatible device with either Windows Mobile Professional or Windows Mobile Standard. You need a minimum 12MB of free storage memory on your device to install Skype or 6MB free if you are installing from a memory card.

MTNL to be the India's first 3G operator-to launch services tomorrow



State-owned MTNL will become the first Indian service provider to commercially launch 3G services when it unveils the services tomorrow(DEC 11th)in the India Telecom 2008 event. The services will be launched in the presence of the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh.

Initially MTNL will offer the services for free for first two months to its premium users. It says that the move is basically to give the subscribers a feel and experience of the 3G services.

The company will launch the service in Delhi first. While the city falling under the municipal limits has been covered. But the company says that the whole region will be covered within a month. Mumbai launch will take place in around two months time.Motorola is providing the core 3G network deployment for MTNL. BSNL and other state-owned has recieved 3G spectrum.

Bluetooth 2.2 is coming!!


The Bluetooth Special Interest Group(SIG) will release Bluetooth 2.2 in mid-2009. Bluetooth 2.2 will have a specification for high speed bluetooth, allowing for bluetooth-enabled devices to transfer data at greatly increased speeds. Bluetooth 2.2 will enable the users to perform more operations through wireless beyond voice transmission. Bluetooth 2.2 will utilize bluetooth technology with either WLAN or UWB for improved data rates, and the two technologies will be marketed as Bluetooth 10x and Bluetooth 100x respectively. To utilize this new technology, mobiles should be equipped with WLAN or UWB radio.
