Windows phone 7.8 is not officially released: by Nokia

Nokia has communicated with WP7.nl morning to let you know that the Windows Phone 7.8 update has not yet been officially released. Those who have already received the update feature in Nokia is on a pre-production unit of Nokia.
Yesterday we reported on the fact that the Windows Phone 7.8 update available for the Nokia Lumia 800. It now appears, however, those were test specimens for developers and media. Nokia brings the update in all probability in order to detect possible bugs. It is therefore likely that the version will be released early next year and will be able to download a higher version number which can have some bug fixes.
Spokeswoman Stella Jansen says here that they respond differently because people are disappointed that they have not received the update. The update will be early next year through Zune available for regular Lumia phones. Users will get to see the message when they connect their phone to the computer.
Lets wait and watch.

Nokia Lumia 800 gets Windows phone 7.8 update

I just hung my Nokia Lumia 800 to Zune to just some photos to sync and tadaaaa! There is an update ready!
Indeed, there is no one ready, but the whole process on Windows Phone 7.8 ending up takes about four updates all at once installed. If your device is already completely up to date, you will get first Nokia Update, then update to 7.10.8773 7.10.8779.8, then proceed with the update to 7.10.8783, which prepares the device for the final update to 7.10. 8858.136, to be exact. When the process is complete, you will in any case be provided with the opportunity to reduce your Tiles and there are a large number of changes. The splash screen is the same as that of the Windows Phone 8 devices and the Xbox Tile is now fully Windows Phone 8 style!
For those who can no longer wait, hang your Lumia 800 (or 900) to Zune and see if the update is available. It may be that branded devices have to wait, but hopefully also in the coming weeks the new version presented.

Nokia Lumia 510 to come with WP 7.8 out of the box

Nokia is launching the Lumia 510 in India with Windows Phone 7.8 running out of the box.

The Lumia 510 is the only smartphone to get Windows Phone 7.8 in India. However, at the moment Windows Phone 7.8 update won’t be available as an OTA update to existing users and will only be available to those who buy the smartphone with the new OS out of the box. Microsoft had earlier announced it will provide Windows Phone 7.8 update to existing users in early 2013. Something tells us that the update roll-out is not very far off!
