After months of beta testing, Android P is official. It is named as Android Pie!
Android 9.0 Pie comes with a ton of new features. One of the biggest changes is the navigation system. With Android Pie, navigation is now gesture-based. There is also a new feature called Adaptive Battery which uses machine learning to improve power management.
The next version of Android, P might be launched on coming August 20 as per the reports shared by Evan Blass on his twitter account who is famous on the leaks.
In his post, he has posted a calender with P on 20th which shows in a subtle way that the launch is on 20th.

Top features of Android P
1. Gesture Navigation
Swiping up to quickly hop into a multitasking view already feels natural. Getting a full view of apps in a carousel makes it easier to quickly identify apps and hop into them, and being able to copy text while in multitasking view is a neat addition. The quick swipe right on the home button to hop between apps is fantastic.
2. New animations
3. Battery info and controls
The new "Adaptive Battery" feature uses AI to watch how you use apps and monitor your battery usage. It will learn and adapt to your usage and will dynamically adjust how those apps can use power depending on how often you use them. For example an app that you use infrequently may not get full access to use power at any time, while others you use sometimes will only get access when you have lots of battery in reserve and apps you use frequently will be given priority no matter your charge level.
